Welcome to the registration page for the 2022 USA Hockey Nashville Adult Classic. Registration will open Tuesday July 5th at 10:00 AM MST. All teams will be guaranteed 3 games and all players will receive a USA Hockey gift and a post-game beverage. A championship banner will be presented on-ice immediately following the championship game and additional prizing will be awarded off-ice to the champion. You do not need a complete roster at the time of registration. However, if you have your roster you will be able to input it. Completed rosters will be due October 3. When you register you will receive an email with a link to re-access your registration. Save that email as that link is how you will add your roster later. If you do not see it in your inbox, check your spam and junk folders.

If the division you would like to be in is full. Finish your registration, all the way to the end, in order to be on the waitlist. Divisions change all the time and waitlist teams still have a great opportunity to get into the event.

  • -The cost for this year's Nashville Adult Classic is $1,200.00
  • -A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 is due at registration. Thirty days after initial payment the final payment of $1,000.00 will be taken automatically.

  • - The cost for this year's Nashville Adult Classic will be $1,200.00
  • - Every player will have to be registered with USA Hockey for the 2022/23 season.
  • - Rosters are not required on the day of registration, but you will have the option to add rosters if you have them.

Cancellation Policy

The total cost of the Nashville Adult Classic Tournament is $1,200.00. A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 is due at registration. Teams that cancel on or before October 3rd will receive a refund of $1000.00. Teams that cancel after October 3 will not receive any refund.

Rules

PERIODS:   (3) - 12 MINUTE PERIODS   -   STOPPED TIME
NOTE: If the score difference is (6) goals or more at any time during the third period, the clock goes to running time. If the score goes back to a difference of less than six goals, stopped time is reinstated.

WARM-UPS:   Three (3) MINUTES (do not go on the ice before the Zamboni is off of the ice). The ice will be resurfaced before each game.

OVERTIME:   TIED GAMES

  • PRELIMINARY ROUND GAMES: SHOOTOUT (No Overtime)
    • If a game is tied at the end of regulation, a three man shoot-out will be held to determine a winner. Visitor team shoots first. If after the first three shooters, the score is still tied, a sudden death shoot-out (one skater each) shall continue until a winner is determined. All skaters on the players’ bench are required to shoot before a player may shoot for a second time.
  • NOTE: Any player serving a penalty at the end of regulation play is NOT eligible to participate in the shootout.
  • SEMI-FINAL & CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES: OVERTIME, then a SHOOTOUT
    • A five minute stopped time, 4 on 4, sudden death, overtime period will be played. If the score remains tied after the overtime, the above described shootout format will be used to determine a winner.

PENALTIES:   2 Minute MINOR, 5 Minute MAJOR, 10 Minute MISCONDUCT    

Discipline For Excessive Penalties:

-(4) Penalties carry an automatic game ejection (remainder of game).
-Fighting WILL NOT be tolerated.  Any players involved in a fight as deemed by the game officials will receive an automatic game misconduct (1 game suspension)

TIMEOUTS: Each team is allowed a One Minute Time Out per Game

EQUIPMENT:   Players are required to follow USA Hockey equipment guidelines. Note: Hockey helmets must be worn.        

GAME RESULTS:   A maximum differential of six goals per game will be used for standings/tiebreaker purposes. ex. A score of 14-3 becomes 9-3; a score of 8-0 becomes 6-0.

PLAYING RULES HIGHLIGHTS

-Jersey colors: Home = Light;  Visitor = Dark

-No Checking is allowed.

-Redline Icing

-Slapshots are allowed.

-Tag up off sides

STANDINGS & TIE BREAKERS

STANDINGS:   STANDINGS WILL BE DETERMINED UTILIZING THE FOLLOWING POINT SYSTEM:

WIN IN REGULATION = 3 POINTS
SHOOT-OUT WIN = 2 POINTS
SHOOT-OUT LOSS = 1 POINT
LOSS IN REGULATION = 0 POINTS

TIE BREAKERS:

IF TEAMS ARE TIED IN THE STANDINGS, THE FOLLOWING TIE BREAKING RULES WILL APPLY (in order):

  • HEAD TO HEAD (results in the games played between the tied teams) Note: If a team defeated the other team(s) that they are tied with, they will be ranked ahead of those other teams.
  • GOAL DIFFERENTIAL – GOALS FOR MINUS GOALS AGAINST IN ALL GAMES PLAYED. Note:   In a given game the goal differential will be a maximum of (6) regardless of a greater goal differential.    Ex: 15-2 = 8-2
  • FEWEST GOALS ALLOWED FOR ALL GAMES PLAYED
  • PERIOD POINTS (won by each team).                                                                                                                                                                                                         2 points for each period won, 1 point for each period tied, and 1 point for a shutout in a period
  • FEWEST MINOR PENALTIES IN ALL GAMES PLAYED.
  • FEWEST TOTAL PENALTY MINUTES IN ALL GAMES PLAYED.
  • COIN TOSS

RULES: USA Hockey playing rules are in effect. Some hightlighted rules are below.

-All players are required to follow USA Hockey equipment recommendations.

-This is a non-checking event.  Body checking is not permitted at any level.

-Slap shots are allowed at all levels.

-The red line will be used for automatic icing.

-The tag-up rule will be used for off-sides.

-Any team who willingly forfeits a game will not be eligible for semi-final or final games in the event, and may face future ineligibility at future USA Hockey events (Classics, Nationals, alternative playing opportunities).

-Any player(s) that participated at any time during the current season (after September 1st) at any elite professional level (NHL, AHL, Europe) or on an NCAA Division I or III team are NOT eligible for this tournament.

-Any player(s) who participated in any other professional leagues (ECHL, CHL, IHL, UHL, SPHL, and AAHA) after December 31st of the current season are NOT eligible for this tournament.

If it is determined by the tournament director(s) at any point during the preliminary round games that a team (in the Silver division and below) as a whole are far above their competition that team will be permitted to play the three game guarantee, but will receive a 1-0 forfeit loss for those games and will not be permitted to advance to the championship round

All Players on the roster must play in at least one preliminary round game to be eligible for the playoff round.  

Players may only play on one team in the tournament.  Players cannot play for multiple teams in multiple divisions.  Exceptions may be made for goaltenders in extenuating circumstances. 

Game officials (referees) working games in the tournament are NOT PERMITTED to play for any team in the divisions that they officiate.  

*THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR(S) RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE ANY DECISIONS REGARDING TOURNAMENT RULES, FORMAT, ETC.  FOR THE OVERALL GOOD OF THE EVENT.

Team Information

Please use the following division descriptions as a guideline when choosing a division. It is advised that you place your team based on the experience of your team’s strongest three players as opposed to your weaker players.

DIVISION DISCLAIMER

Knowingly entering your team into an inappropriate division will not improve your chances of getting into your preferred division that might be sold out. Registering into an inappropriate division and also going on a waitlist for an acceptable division will move you to the bottom of that waitlist. Please sign up for the appropriate division or, if it’s sold out, put yourself on the waitlist. The tournament director(s) reserves the right to move teams into appropriate divisions/waitlists as needed to ensure parity across the tournament.

If you won your division last year, you must play in a division above, where applicable (high level divisions may be an exception) USA Hockey's staff reserves the right to move your team if you register in a division you previously won.
